Services We Offer

Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC)

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is more than just a tool; it is a vital bridge that ensures thoughts, needs, and personality are never left unheard. Chatterbox utilizes a specialized process to evaluate, trial and provide treatment plans for all AAC users, no matter their journey.

Gestalt Language Processing

Gestalt Language Processing (GLP) is a natural way of developing language where individuals learn “chunks” or whole phrases—like a favorite movie line or a song lyric. For families, recognizing these meaningful scripts is the key to unlocking your child or adult’s unique communication style, allowing you to move from simply hearing words to truly understanding the heart of what they are trying to share.

Feeding Therapy

Our approach to feeding therapy balances the critical medical need for swallowing safety (dysphagia management) with the emotional foundation of responsive feeding. We work closely with families to ensure that mealtimes are physically secure and free from stress, focusing on your child or adult’s internal cues of hunger and fullness while building the oral-motor skills necessary for efficient eating.

Executive Functioning

Executive functioning acts as the “air traffic controller” of the brain, managing the complex flow of information so we can plan, focus, and multitask effectively. For families, understanding these skills is essential because they are the foundation for independence; when we support a child or adult’s ability to organize their thoughts and regulate their impulses, we aren’t just helping them finish a task—we are giving them the tools to navigate life with confidence.

Early Intervention

Early intervention is a proactive approach that capitalizes on the brain’s incredible plasticity during the first three years of life, when the foundation for all future learning is built. By addressing speech and language delays as soon as they appear, we don’t just “fix” a current struggle; we provide your child with the essential communication tools they need to prevent future academic and social frustrations.

Dyslexia

Dyslexia is not a reflection of intelligence, but a different way the brain processes language that requires a structured, multisensory approach to master reading and spelling. By utilizing gold-standard methods like Orton-Gillingham, Lively Letters, and other evidence-based programs, we move beyond simple memorization to help students understand the “why” behind our language, turning frustration into fluent, confident reading.
